The Local Urban District (LUD) of Warren is the largest urban centre in the R.M. of Woodlands. With a population of over 750 people, Warren offers a quality rural lifestyle and a variety of services.
Located 20 minutes from the intersection of the Perimeter Highway (Route #101) and Provincial Highway #6, Warren is serviced by water, sewer and natural gas infrastructure. Fully serviced residential and commercial lots are available with a number of new developments in the planning process. Warren Elementary School and Warren Collegiate Institute provide excellent opportunities in a safe and friendly environment. Warren Collegiate offers an Accredited Hockey Program as well as many other course options.
Recreation and leisure opportunities are abundant. Programming includes curling, hockey (newly constructed in 2007 with an eight-month season), golf (South Interlake Golf and Country Club), yoga, soccer (new pitch under construction), baseball for all age groups, ringette, figure skating, dance and many senior programs. Aside from organized recreation opportunities; snowmobiling, local horse back riding clubs, and cross country skiing are favoured past-times. Youth groups including Cubs, Scouts, Girl Guides and 4-H support youth development and community development. Warren and District Lions (men) and the Warren Horizons Lion Club (women) demonstrate a commitment to community service complimented by friendship and fun. The recently completed Memory Garden offers a quiet place to meet and view the summer flowers, memory plaques, local history information and compliments the downtown elevator development.
Small town hospitality is showcased throughout the Summer with the weekend arrival of the Prairie Dog Central Vintage Passenger Train. Warren is the north destination of the Prairie Dog Central and home of the West Interlake Trading Company country market.
