Q. Where is the Interlake of Manitoba?
A. The Interlake is the land between Lake Manitoba on the West and Lake Winnipeg on the East. The Provincial Highway #6 runs down the west side of the Interlake from Winnipeg to Thompson.
Q. How many lots are available and how many phases?
A. There will be approximately 70 lots of which 23 have already been sold. We are now starting Phase 3 (Spring 2008), with Phase 4 (Fall 2008) and Phase 5 (Spring 2009).
Q. What are the expected taxes?
A. The 2007 tax bill carried a 16.52 Municipal General Mill Rate and a 4.66 Mill Rate for local improvements. That amount is scheduled to be reduced to 1.70 for 2009. The School Mill Rate was 21.67 in 2007. Based on a $100,000 assessment for lot and house, the municipal tax was approximately $950 and the education tax was $975.
Q. Who does street cleaning, snow removal and general maintenance in the village?
A. The Local Urban District (LUD) of Warren has a full-time maintenance person who with the help of a Summer student, cuts the grass on village property except the boulevards which are the responsibility of the lot owner. The municipal grader cleans the snow from the streets in Winter.
